چکیده

Growth in total factor productivity (TFP) indicates the sustainable and/or judicious use of scarce resources, including non-renewables. This paper identifies sources growth global agricultural TFP and its finer components, ranging from climate, production environment, socio-economic factors, using a panel data 104 countries, covering 45-year period (1969–2013); and, finally, projects changes increased climate variability. The results revealed that grew consistently at rate 0.44% p.a., driven by technological progress mix-efficiency change, with negligible contributions technical- scale-efficiency changes; albeit variations across regions. Both long-term short-term climatic factors natural environment significantly reduce productivity, whereas host have significant but varied influence. projected level future variability will productivity. Policy implications include investments crop diversification, education, spending, number researchers, country specific R&D.

Long-term trends of phosphorus concentrations in an artificial lake: Socio-economic and climate drivers

European freshwater ecosystems have undergone significant human-induced and environmentally-driven variations in nutrient export from catchments throughout the past five decades, mainly in connection with changes in land-use, agricultural practice, waste water production and treatment, and climatic conditions. We analysed the relations among concentration of total phosphorus (TP) in the Slapy R...
